Save water is an integral part of Integrated water, sanitation and hygiene project being implemented with district wide approach in Fatehpur district. It aims to achieve water security, access to sanitation facilities & hygiene practices in communities, schools and child health care facilities in rural areas through community-based strategies and convergence with government schemes like Jal Shakti, Swacch Bharat Mission, MANREGA, Sarv Shiksha Abhiyan. It implements innovative community based strategies including water budgeting and use behaviours, rain water harvesting utilising traditional water bodies such as wells, ponds, community WASH resources centers, water quality testing, Gram Panchayat Development Planning, toilet facilities and use, hand wash at critical timings, menstrual hygiene management. It systematically engages community, schools, local governance institutions, community-based volunteers and organisations, government and civil society organisations.
